It is the RSPB guide to the Big Birdwatch 27th to 29th January

WE WILL BE BIRDWATCHING  FROM THE POCKET PARK, Westbury Street by the canal on Saturday 28th January.

It takes one hour.

Graham Fowler will be there between 11am and 12 noon.

Providing you do it on that weekend, you can choose to watch for whatever hour suits you best. If you watch on Saturday morning I can collect the results from you straight away.

No complicated equipment is needed. Not even binoculars. Just bring something to keep track of what you see and when you saw it.

Whatever you can see without leaving the park can be counted. That includes: the park, the canal, the allotments opposite and the railway embankment

BEFORE THE WEEKEND

We will try to put up the RSPB ‘How to’ chart to help with bird identification and notes on how to record sightings.

If people could try to make sure that birdfeeders are kept well stocked in advance of the day that would encourage the birds to join in the event.

AFTER THE WEEKEND

Results have to be with the RSPB by mid February. If people could let us have the results well before then I will collate them and send them to the RSPB. Give them to Graham Fowler or to Clare Harker in person or return them online or to the Arboretum Residents Association.
