Worcester Canal Festival

12 June, 2015 - 14 June, 2015

2015-canal-festivalLandsdowne Park will be the venue for a music, food and craft festival over three days on 12th to 14th June to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the Worcester & Birmingham Canal.

The event which will benefit local charities and community groups is supported by the Worcester, Birmingham & Droitwich Canal Society, the Worcester Canal Group and the Arboretum Residents Association and a number of local community groups including St. Paul’s, Maggs and many others.

As well as an extensive programme of local bands, school choirs, food and craft stalls, traditional sideshow activities, there is a wide variety of children’s activities, judging of a school painting competition, a digital stage, and a charity auction. There is expected to be around 50 canal boats at the event including several craft boats.

Labour’s Parliamentary candidate for Worcester Cllr Joy Squires, who is the chair of the group organising the festival, said it “promised to be one of the most exciting events the city had ever seen”.

The event combines the efforts of charitable and community organisations and offers a unique opportunity for local businesses to connect with Worcester residents through Sponsorship, Advertising or donation.  Contact us at info@worcestercanalgroup.org.uk  or see details on the project page at  www.addpartners.net
