To celebrate international biodiversity day within the COVID restriction guidelines we are intending to see what wildlife can be found along the stretch of the canal the Worcester Canal Group has adopted between the Railway Bridge and Lansdowne Road bridge.

Come and join us. All ages and abilities welcome.

At each site, there will be an expert as well as members of the community. Make a list of your findings and we will use it to encourage wildlife along the canal. Please use the Eventbrite website link below to confirm your place, as for COVID reasons we need to keep a track of numbers.

We will be based at three locations.

People taking part can do so at just one location, at two, or at all three. They can return to the locations at different times of the day.

1. The Arboretum Pocket Park and the canal near the railway bridge. Look for the ‘Wandering Wildlife’ sign.  Access by road or along the canal towpath.
2. Two allotments on the Lansdowne rd site, centred on plot 8, together with the adjacent stretch of CRT land.  Look for the ‘Bee Friendly Allotment’ sign about 50 yards along the path from the car park. Access through the car park on Lansdowne road.
3. Bramble Wood Forest School site. Look for the gate into the wood and the statue of Mrytle. Two Forest School sessions will be running on that day.  Access by arrangement from the other sites.

Times and Meeting.

From  2pm to 6pm at the allotments and the Pocket Park. At Bramble Wood from 3pm onwards, on the hour

There should be someone to meet you and provide you with a monitoring form at each of the sites.

Some reference guides will also be available.

It is okay to move between the sites.

Weather permitting we are hoping to finish the day with a short bat walk.

It is also okay to take part outside of the set times provided the COVID guidelines are followed. Just let us have your results.
