Another sunny day for litter picking

It was a cold and crisp morning on Saturday – perfect for litter picking. We had a very good turnout and collected a fair amount of litter, although it seemed that the usual problem area near Wickes had been partially cleared earlier in the week.

Dan and his daughter took to the canal in their canoes and collected a lot of bottles and cans from amongst the reeds, which was really great and certainly improves the look of the canal. Unfortunately, there was still a lot left to do, but Dan is planning to go out again to collect some more further up towards Gregory’s Bank.

The next litter pick is on the 27th February, followed by the Bramble Bash! at Lansdowne Allotments on Monday the 29th.

Litter Pick and Daffodil Planting

Daffodil planting

Our regular litter pick along the canal is this coming Saturday (25th), starting at 10:30am in Lansdowne Park. All equipment provided.

We also have some daffodil planting planned at the same time by lock 5. Suitable clothes and gardening gloves required.

Whichever task you wish to help with, afterwards we’ll pop to The Chestnut for a drink and a chat.

Hope to see you on Saturday.
