It was a cold and crisp morning on Saturday – perfect for litter picking. We had a very good turnout and collected a fair amount of litter, although it seemed that the usual problem area near Wickes had been partially cleared earlier in the week.
Dan and his daughter took to the canal in their canoes and collected a lot of bottles and cans from amongst the reeds, which was really great and certainly improves the look of the canal. Unfortunately, there was still a lot left to do, but Dan is planning to go out again to collect some more further up towards Gregory’s Bank.
The next litter pick is on the 27th February, followed by the Bramble Bash! at Lansdowne Allotments on Monday the 29th.
Our next regular litter pick is on Saturday 30th January, starting at 10:30am in Lansdowne Park.
Please join us.

At our Canal Group meeting in January some suggestions for possible trips to canal related places were put forward.
We would like to find out the level of interest for these. Please use the form below to tell us which events you would be interested in joining, plus whether there are any other trips that you think would interest other people.
- Visit to Stroud to see the improvements they have made to their canal and surrounding area. See Cotswold Canals Trust website for more information.
- Visit to the Waterways Museum in Gloucester (due to reopen in July). See the Gloucester Waterways Museum website for further details.
Our next group meeting is at the Guildhall on 21st January, starting at 7pm. We agreed that we would use it as a project planning meeting.
So, if you have some ideas for projects in 2016 please come along. If you cannot make it on 21st but have some ideas for what we could do then please get in touch.
